Ringing in the New Area Director

Aloha!  As the season of giving thanks and spreading holiday cheer approaches and as i prepare to serve as the Area Director for East Hawaii, i am thankful for this opportunity to meet and work with some of the most talented, gifted and brilliant athletes on the Big Island.  i am truly humbled and blessed to carry out this great kuleana (responsibility and duty) and  i look forward to meeting all the athletes, their families, their limahana (PAs, Caretakers, extended family) and all event supporters and volunteers in the coming year.

As i look to all that Ke Akua will bless us with in 2014, i want to share this ʻōlelo noʻeau with you, along with my commitment to move our program forward: "Hoʻomoe wai kāhi ke kāoʻo" (Let all travel together like water flowing in one direction).  It is with aloha and pono (uprightness, proper, goodness) that i request from all of you to take some time, reflect on all that you have been given and work to move forward in our Special Olympics East Hawaii ʻohana so that our athletes remain at the forefront at all times.  Support each other,  live the mission and be pono!

Wishing you and your family the greatest of blessings this holiday season!
